“Fairness and access to health care” is the title of the 6th International Seminar of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the UB - Bioethics and Law Observatory (OBD-UB) that will take place on Thursday 31st January, in the Antoni Caparrós room at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). The main objective of this 6th seminar is to discuss the main ethical dilemmas posed by the current management of public health if we consider the concept of distributive justice and the right of every citizen to access to health care in the same conditions.

“Fairness and access to health care” is the title of the 6th International Seminar of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the UB - Bioethics and Law Observatory (OBD-UB) that will take place on Thursday 31st January, in the Antoni Caparrós room at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). The main objective of this 6th seminar is to discuss the main ethical dilemmas posed by the current management of public health if we consider the concept of distributive justice and the right of every citizen to access to health care in the same conditions.

The seminar will be opened by the rector of the UB, Dr Dídac Ramírez, and Dr María Casado, director of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the UB and the Bioethics and Law Observatory, located at the PCB. Lectures will be given around three round tables, in which national and International experts from academic, legal, health and institutional fields will participate. The first round table, moderated by Dr Albert Royes, member of the OBD-UB, will be focused on fairness considering the management of public health, the health care, the prescription of drugs and the sexual and reproductive health care. The second round table, coordinated by Dr Ricardo García Manrique, lecturer of Philosophy of Law at the UB, will analyse distributive justice and the allocation of health care resources. Finally, Dr Anna Badia i Martí, professor of International Law at the UB and member of OBD-UB, will head the third round table about fairness in Latin America.
