UB tops once more the QS World University Rankings 2013 by Subject in the State
The UB is also among the 100 worldwide best universities in 14 subject areas: Agriculture and Silviculture, Medicine, Psychology, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology (within Life Sciences and Medicine); Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Earth and Marine Sciences, and Environmental Sciences (within Natural Sciences); Chemistry Engineering (within Engineering and Technology); Philosophy, History and Archaeology and Linguistics (within Arts and Humanities); Education and Sociology Education (within Social Sciences).
If we compare the results got in the new ranking to those obtained in the previous one, the UB improves its position in Earth and Marine Sciences, Education, Environmental Sciences, Law, Linguistics, Pharmacy and Physics. The subject areas in which it holds the same position are: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics and Econometrics, Chemistry Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, English Language and Literature, History and Archaeology, Materials Science, Medicine, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics and Operation Research.
QS World University Rankings by Subject are published every year and based on a methodology which includes the analysis of several indicators such as the academic and employer reputation of graduates, citations and other quality research indicators.
