Bankinter Innovation Foundation organises the first Akademia programme at the University of Barcelona.The presentation takes place on Thursday 26 September, at 6.30 p.m., in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Economics and Business. The development at UB of this Programme, a pioneer course on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation at universities, is part of the activities organised by the recent Barcelona Entrepreneurship Institute (BIE) of the UB. Akademiaʼ seeks promoting innovative thinking among Spanish university students and encouraging them to meet the challenge of understanding the ever-changing business sector. The course is addressed to UB students who are about to complete a bachelorʼs degree or are studying a masterʼs degree or postgraduate course. The aim is to provide them with the necessary knowledge to led innovative projects or run their own business in the future.

Through a total of 16 sessions, the programme Akademia seeks to promote analytical skills in order to identify business opportunities. Students are guided by means of a unique material developed by Future Trends Forum experts. Contents are focused on the concept of innovation and those trends which have changed our social and business context for the last years. Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, social technologies, globalization or innovative education are some examples.

Based on a student-centred methodology, motivating and participative, the programme Akademia is a perfect complement to university education. Akademia teaching staff is composed by prestigious experts from different business and technological sectors.
