To encourage the relationship between students and companies and to know present challenges of the pharmaceutical business sector are the main objectives of the third Work Placement Day of the bachelorʼs degree in Pharmacy. The symposium happens on Wednesday 12 February, at 3 p.m. at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The dean of the Faculty, Joan Esteva de Sagrera, opens the symposium which is addressed to students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and is part of the programme Passaport a la Professió (Passport to Job), an initiative of the Deanʼs Office and the Student Support Service (SAE). The conference is organised by lecturers Carmen Escolano and Encarna García as rectorʼs delegates for the Relationship with Industry.

The implementation of the European Higher Education Area has involved some changes on the degree in Pharmacy. In this sense, one of the priorities of the Deanʼs Office is to promote studentʼs skills in contacting with companies, by means of the optional subject Work Placements, included on the syllabus of the degree in Pharmacy since the academic year 2012-2013. The initiative has enabled a great number of students to improve their skills and face the job sector before getting the degree; it has also enhanced the relationship between the Faculty of Pharmacy and chemical and pharmaceutical companies through conferences and round table talks.
