On 30 September, Ernest Giralt, professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona, received the Max Bergmann Medal. The Max-Bergmann Society honors Professor Giralt for his “scientific achievements in peptide chemistry”, as he coordinates the programme of Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) and heads the Peptides and Proteins lab.

The main objective of the Max-Bergmann Society is to promote peptide research with a special emphasis on chemical methodologies. Giralt received the medal on the societyʼs annual meeting, which took place this week in Pfofeld‐Langlau, Germany.
