The Barcelona Institute of Economics organises the IEB Tax Forum 2.0: ʻModels of Tax Administrationʼ
On 27 October, the Col·legi dʼEconomistes de Catalunya hosts the IEB Tax Forum 2.0, organised by the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB). The main goals of the conference are, first, to identify the different institutional models of tax administration that exist in developed countries and, second, to analyse those models that could be the most appropriate for the Spanish institutional reality. José María Duran and Alejandro Esteller, professors at the University of Barcelona (UB) and researchers at IEB, managed the organization of the conference, entitled “Models of Tax Administration”.

The conference will emphasize the need to reform the Spanish tax system considering fiscal decentralization. The conference includes several lectures pronounced by representatives of important companies and consulting firms like Gas Natural, Applus, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Everis; members of Spanish institutions and professional associations such as the State Agency of Tax Administration (AEAT), the Spanish Association of Tax Advisers (AEDAF) and the Register of Tax Advisers (REAF), as well as academicians and politicians involved in the definition of tax systems.
The IEB Tax Forum 2.0 is sponsored by the Government of Catalonia, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Everis, AEDAD, REAF and the Col·legi dʼEconomistes de Catalunya.
