The Spanish external sector is limited by foreign input dependency and the small contribution of gross exports to GDP. It would be necessary to re-orient productive specialization towards those activities that allow attracting higher added value segments within international supply chains. These are the conclusions of the research study elaborated by Marta Solaz, researcher at the University of Valencia who won the 4th Emilio Fontela Research Prize given within the 6th Spanish Conference on Input-Output Analysis. The conference takes place at the University of Barcelona, until 9 September.
