The University of Barcelona (UB) has regained the privilege of being the first-ranked university in Spain according to the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2015-2016. The UB continues being number 166 in the world ranking, and it rises one place to rank at position 72 at European level. Recently, the UB was also the only Spanish institution ranked amongst the top 200 universities in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2015 (ARWU).

The QS World University Rankings evaluate the quality of research and teaching, graduatesʼ employment index and facultiesʼ international projection, among other indicators.

The University of Barcelona (UB) has regained the privilege of being the first-ranked university in Spain according to the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2015-2016. The UB continues being number 166 in the world ranking, and it rises one place to rank at position 72 at European level. Recently, the UB was also the only Spanish institution ranked amongst the top 200 universities in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2015 (ARWU).

The QS World University Rankings evaluate the quality of research and teaching, graduatesʼ employment index and facultiesʼ international projection, among other indicators.

The UB improves its position particularly in employer reputation and academic reputation. To be exact, it rises to position 135, thatʼs a 16-point climb, and it rises to position 78, that's a 6-point climb, respectively.

Concerning the five broad faculty areas established by the ranking, the UB improves its position in Life Sciences & Medicine —position 87—, Social Sciences —position 129— and, particularly, in Natural Sciences, the subject area in which it climbs to position 62.

Other high-ranking Spanish universities are the Autonomous University of Madrid (position 186), and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (position 190).
