Eveline Chagas Lemus, adjunct lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Social Services of the University of Barcelona has been given the Award to the top thesis in the 2nd International Social Work Convention and the 11th National Convention of Social Work Faculties and Schools, organized by the University of La Rioja.

Eveline Chagas Lemus, adjunct lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Social Services of the University of Barcelona has been given the Award to the top thesis in the 2nd International Social Work Convention and the 11th National Convention of Social Work Faculties and Schools, organized by the University of La Rioja.

Named “Trabajo social con familias: un estudio comparado sobre la intervención en los cras de fortaleza-Brasil y en los CCS de Barcelona” (Social work with families: a comparative study on the intervention in fortress CRAS-Brazil and the CCS in Barcelona), Eveline Chagasʼ thesis has a clear objective: getting to know the similarities and differences between the intervention of primary healthcare social workers with families in the social policy area in Spain and Brazil. The results are innovative and are introduced from three different sources: theoretic resource framework, field diary notes, and speeches by professionals and assisted families.

The director of the Department of Social Work and Social Services, Josefa Fernandez, says that “this is a great honour for both the University of Barcelona and Eveline Chagas Lemus, who got the doctorate in the University of Barcelona in the Education and Society Doctorate, in the area of social work, services and policies, and who is currently an adjunct lecturer in our department”.
