The University of Barcelona holds the second position in the ranking of CyD Ranking Foundation, together with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and with a one point difference with Pompeu Fabra University -which holds the first position in this ranking that has been presented today.

The University of Barcelona holds the second position in the ranking of CyD Ranking Foundation, together with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and with a one point difference with Pompeu Fabra University -which holds the first position in this ranking that has been presented today.

The more than 30 indicators they assess are shown in 3 performance groups: high (green), intermediate (yellow) and low (red). The indicators are grouped in 5 dimensions: teaching and learning, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and contribution to regional development. In this list the University of Barcelona stands out particularly regarding research (7 out of 10 high performance indicators), knowledge transfer (5 out of 8) and international orientation (4 out of 6), having the same position as UAB.

The ranking also shows indicators by area: biology, chemistry, mathematics, history, sociology and social work. The UB stands out particularly in the biology field (with 20 high performance indicators out of the 32 evaluated). This is this rankingʼs third edition coordinated by Martí Parellada, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business and it is based on the U-Multirank carried out by the European Committee. It involves 66 Spanish universities from all the country regions. The ranking analyzes 13 knowledge fields, 948 degrees and has 32 institution indicators in the institutional ranking and 34 performance indicators in the 6 knowledge areas analysed in this yearʼs edition: biology, chemistry, mathematics, history, sociology and social work.
