The Rector Dídac Ramírez and four friends of the thirteen victims of the Freginals accident (Erasmus students) have attended today the Charles V European Award ceremony in the Royal Monastery of Yuste (Caceres). The awardee has been the Italian teacher Sofia Corradi, more known as mamma Erasmus. Corradi has been awarded for her encouraging task in the Erasmus exchange program. The King Felipe VI has given the students, Rector and the families of the victims a "supportive and heartfelt" message which has also linked to “all people in Europeʼs heart who have suffered from the effects of the coward and cruel terrorism”.

Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament —who was also attending the ceremony—, has admitted that "Spain is the country that sends more students around Europe". Just like the King, he has also asked for solidarity to overcome the refugees' crisis.
