A delegation from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of the Chinese government visits the University of Barcelona
In mid-May, the rector of the University of Barcelona, Dídac Ramírez, welcomed a delegation of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of the Chinese Government (SAFEA), a high level organism which identifies and welcomes experts, academics and distinguished scientists worldwide to offer collaborations with important Chinese institutions. The SAFEA delegation was formed by the vice-President of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Xia Mingjiu, the Director of the Department of Cultural and Educational Experts, Nie Biao; the sub-Director of the Department of Planification, Chui Haichum; and the sub-Director of the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, Gao Pengfei. They were accompanied by the Directors of the Institute Confucius of Barcelona, Shiru Chang and Helena Casas.
The visit of this Chinese delegation, interested in the University of Barcelona as a priority potential partner, coincided with the closing ceremony of the Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education (AECHE), which allowed the maximum representatives of the attending associations, the President of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) Sultan Abu Orabi and the Secretary of the European University Association (EUA) Lesley Wilson, joining the meeting and sharing opinions and interuniversity ties.
