“Lots of high school students ask about the war in Syria and the situation of thousands of people who are forced to escape their country”, say the members of the Foundation. “Some of these students focus their research project on this issue, and the information they get for their research can be very interesting”, they say.

This is the case of the research project by a student from the high school Juan Manuel Zafra, in Barcelona, who had the opportunity to interview Syrian refugees in Lebanon, when he visited a family member in summer 2016. A great part of the exhibition is dedicated to testimonies. Also, the exhibition covers two more researches: one analyzing the action taken by local administration and the entities in Santa Coloma de Gramenet regarding the refugee crisis, and the other examining the journalist production on the situation of refugees in Greece.

The three projects received advice from the UB Solidarity Foundation as part of the program Recerca per la Ciutadania Global, a project helping high school students with their research projects from a peace, human rights and global citizenship perspective. The initiative counts with the support of the Directorate of International Relations and Cooperation of the Barcelona City Council.
