This initiative, led by the Ghent University, presents five proposals: the creation of a platform for social sciences and humanities, similar to the European Technological Platforms (ETPs); encouraging researchers to think on how to create an academic and social impact; recognizing all disciplines contribute to make a more inclusive and prosperous Europe; investing in high-quality innovation on social sciences and humanities: and setting a target budget for the social sciences and humanities spending of the 10 % of the overall civil research budget for FP9.

The objective of this document is to help the European Commission to define the necessary actions to reach the objectives of the EU institutions regarding research on social sciences and humanities.
