On Thursday, May 10, the elections to renew the 300 members of the University Senate call the students, the teaching staff (PDI) and the administration and services staff (PAS), like it was approved in the Governing Council on March 20. The students, apart from their representatives in the Senate, will have to choose representatives for boards and study councils.

According to the census data, 57,788 students, 6,313 PDI members and 2,274 PAS members can vote. The voting times are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for PDI and PAS members, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the students.

On Thursday, May 10, the elections to renew the 300 members of the University Senate call the students, the teaching staff (PDI) and the administration and services staff (PAS), like it was approved in the Governing Council on March 20. The students, apart from their representatives in the Senate, will have to choose representatives for boards and study councils.

According to the census data, 57,788 students, 6,313 PDI members and 2,274 PAS members can vote. The voting times are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for PDI and PAS members, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the students.

On April 27, the definitive candidacies to be representatives of academic staff, administration and services staff and students were published in the University Senate, and the electoral campaign has taken place until May 19. PDI and PAS members who could not vote on May 10, were able to use the early vote from April 30 to May 9, in their centers’ offices. Regarding the students, they could use the early vote until May 7.

According to the Arctile 56 in the UB Statute, the renewal of these groups takes place every four years (except for the students, which changes every two years), and up to 180 representatives of academic staff (including vice-rectors, deans, and directors) are chosen, as well as 30 representatives of the administration and services staff, and 90 students.

Moreover, regarding the constituencies, and in accordance to the Regulation of the Senate elections for the academic staff and administration and services staff on November 29, 2005, modified by the Governing Council on March 12, 2014, regarding the academic staff there is a constituency for each center and each collective: doctor permanent academic staff and other teaching staff. Regarding the administration and services staff, there is one electoral constituency. Last, there is a constituency in each center for the students.
