International conference on Russian studies at the UB

From June 20 to 22, the Paranimph of the Historical Building will hold the first International Conference on Russian Studies at the University of Barcelona. The activity aims to focus on the field of Russian linguistics, literature and Russian as a foreign language with lectures given by experts.

From June 20 to 22, the Paranimph of the Historical Building will hold the first International Conference on Russian Studies at the University of Barcelona. The activity aims to focus on the field of Russian linguistics, literature and Russian as a foreign language with lectures given by experts.

The three days will include activities from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with conferences, cultural activities and some meals for the attendees. Among the speakers are Valeri Mokienko, doctor in Philology and lecturer of Slavic Philology at the University of Saint Petersburg; Georges Nivat, scholar, translator and expert on 20th and 21st century Russian literature; Kira Gor, doctor in Linguistics and Experimental Phonetics by the Saint Petersburg State University; Dmitri Dobrovolski, doctor in Philology and expert on lexicography; Ludmila Pöppel, doctor in Philology at the Stockholm University; and Ricard San Vicente, lecturer expert on Russian language and literature at the University of Barcelona.

The international conference will gather around 200 lectures, the presence of six plenary speakers and eight parallel sessions as well as the participation of more than 250 people from 51 different countries.
