The first satisfaction report by recent graduates in Catalan universities, developed by the Catalan University Quality Assurance (AQU) shows that graduates give a score of 7 regarding their level of satisfaction in the studies they carried out. This is one of the main conclusions of the report La satisfacció dels graduats i les graduades de les universitats catalanes, which analyses the surveys that were conducted on almost 17,000 graduates from the 2015 and 2017 promotions, coming from seven Catalan public universities and four private ones. Regarding the UB, since 2013 the Technical Office of the Rectorʼs Office carries out satisfaction surveys for graduates, which are brought to AQU to work on the joint report. The UB surveys showed that the amount of students that would choose the UB again to study has increased, from 68.2 % in 2013 to 72.1 % in 2017, a 71.3 % in general data in all universities that appear in the AQU survey.

Among the main conclusions of the AQU report is that the most satisfying graduates come from the bachelor degrees on Sciences and Health Sciences (7.5) and the less satisfied are the ones in Engineering and Human Sciences (6.7). Graduates are specially satisfied with the results of trainings (6.9), formed by three skill areas: personal (autonomous learning, problem solving, critical analysis), professional and communicative. Other positive elements are the satisfaction with the teaching staff (6.4), libraries (7.1) and Virtual Campus (7). Indicators that are related to the teaching and learning process (tutoring, coordination of courses and evaluation system) are the less valued. However, these get a “pass” from the graduates (5.7).

The university satisfies everyone. Sociodemographic characteristics and access do not involve differences regarding the satisfaction with studies. However, people who combine studies and work show a lower satisfaction than the average. The authors of the report highlight that the valorization of the curricular structure gets a 6.3 on satisfaction, and they say bachelor degrees have become solid training programs and that development and evaluation processes of degree proposals have been enough to guarantee their quality.

If limiting these data to the UB only, in a score range from 1 to 5, the global satisfaction with the UB has gone from 3.56 in 2013 to 3.74 in 2017, and satisfaction for each center has oscillated from 3.45 to 3.69 in UB centers. Among the top valued aspects are the resources of the library services and teaching support (3.83 in 2017), Virtual Campus (3.82) and general satisfaction with the degree (3.74). The less valued aspects are tutoring (2.75), answer to complaints and suggestions (2.92) and coordination between the content of courses to avoid overlaps (3.08).
