With the institutional publication The UB in figures, the University of Barcelona brings a synthetic and agile presentation document on the University that can be used in both national and international meetings and conferences. Governing bodies and the members of the university community use it over the academic year. Also, it serves as a presentation letter of the University for the visitors of the Historical Building, who can get copies in the main hall. The UB in figures puts, through grids and infographics, the main magnitudes of the UB, from the 662,774 square meters of built surface in the different centers of the University to the locations of the campus, as well as the distribution of income and expenses from the 370,669,900-euro budget. It breaks the teaching activity down with figures of students depending on the faculties and knowledge areas and it contains data such as students valuation of their lecturers: bachelor students give their lecturers a 7.28 out of 10 and master students give them a 7.83. In some cases, the document shows the evolution of a series of data, such as the case of research funds: there are new funds collected in new calls over the last three years (more than 88 million euros in 2017). It also offers transfer contracts that have been signed via Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, accounting for almost 11 million euros in 2017, or the value of the facilities of the Scientific and Technologic Centers of the UB: 42 million euros. There are figures to give a glimpse of the internationalization at the UB, such as agreements with 121 out of the 200 top worldwide universities (according to the Times Higher Education). The services chapter states that the Library monograph funds account for 1,696,322 and, it also notes that in culture, almost 5,000 people have participated in the guided tours of the Historical Building.
At the moment, 1,250 copies of The UB in figures are published in Catalan, 1,400 in Spanish and 1,600 in English.
