On October 10, the homage to the emeritus professor of pathological anatomy Josep Antoni Bombí i Latorre took place on the occasion of his retirement. The ceremony, held in the Paranimph of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Clinic Campus, gathered professionals of the field of medicine who shared a part of their career with Bombí.

On October 10, the homage to the emeritus professor of pathological anatomy Josep Antoni Bombí i Latorre took place on the occasion of his retirement. The ceremony, held in the Paranimph of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Clinic Campus, gathered professionals of the field of medicine who shared a part of their career with Bombí.

During the homage, the rector Joan Elias highlighted the vocation of Dr. Bombí for public services: “Nowadays this concept can be seen as clear, but when Dr. Bombí started his career as a doctor, public health with a vocation for universal provision was just starting to be built”. He also mentioned the tight bond between Bombí and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences: “Bombíʼs career has a series of important achievements that contributed to building the scientific prestige of the Faculty of Medicine and its social distinction which place it in a good position both at national and international levels”.

Other attendants of the ceremony were Francesc Cardellach, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona; Antoni Castells, medical director of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona; Antonio Martínez, head of the Pathological Anatomy Service in Hospital Clínic de Barcelona; Àlvar Net, president of the Academy of Medical Sciences and Health of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands; Jordi Palés, secretary of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia; Teresa Estrach, professor of Dermatology at the University of Barcelona and former dean of the Faculty; and Josep Maria Campistol, director-general of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, who closed the ceremony.
