Maite Vilalta reads a manifesto supporting equality promotion
The Aula Magna of the Historical Building held a poetry reading with songs and guitar on the occasion of the International Womenʼs Day. The vice-rector for Equal Opportunities and Social Action, Maite Vilalta, read a manifesto in favour of the promotion of equality in the university community and society in general.
The text puts emphasis on the role of the university in the fight for a fair society and laments there are still inequalities for decision-taking positions. Also, the manifesto highlights rectorʼs offices and equality units of the universities are working every day to promote equality because “all these inequalities are not only unfair and intolerable, many are even illegal, but they prevent us from having talent and possibilities to improve our science, innovate and create societies with more sustainable and efficient values”.
