The projects, which can be individual or in group, should treat a gender topic including gender perspective, such an approach to reality from a critical perspective to consider sexual differences and sexuality; studies on the effects of gender inequality on production and publication of knowledge; a basic research on theories and methodologies of feminist theories and gender studies, or the application of theoretic and methodological bases with gender perspective on research on social problems.

Each award accounts for 800 euros in cash. Regarding the TFG award, there will be three honourable mentions of 100 euros each for each different knowledge branch of the winning project. The knowledge areas are: Experimental Sciences and Engineering; Health Sciences; Arts and Humanities, and Social and Law Science.

The award will be decided by a multidisciplinary jury formed by experts on gender from all faculties in which the disciplines of these projects are taught, the director of the Equality Unit, Pilar Rivas, and presided by the vice-rector of Equal Opportunities and Social Action, Maite Vilalta. The following criteria will be taken into account in order to select the awardees: the relevance of the topic and originality in its development; the theoretic framework; coherence and methodologic rigor, and the results, conclusions and the advances brought into the field. Those projects using sexist or androcentric language will be ruled out.

Submitting the projects

Students who wish to participate in the Awards to the top gender perspective TFG and TFM have to fill the form -available in the website of the Equality Unit. The procedure to submit the project has two steps: first, the system asks the student to register with basic data and uploading the academic records to check the mark of the project. Once the registration is done, the system will send an identification code to his/her email address. Second, the student will upload the project, which will have the identification of the given code. Therefore, anonymity is guaranteed. It is important for the project not to contain any data that can identify the author. The project -which can be in Catalan, Spanish or English- has to be sent in PDF format, with a summary of its content (maximum 500 words).

In September, the names of the awarded projects will be published in the website of the UB, and the award ceremony will be held in a public act before the end of the year 2019.
