The University of Barcelona holds the 80th position worldwide in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020, a ranking published today by Quacquarelly Symonds, which lists 500 university centers according to graduate employability. Specifically, the University of Barcelona got a total score of 62.8 in employability rate, a higher figure compared to last yearʼs 61.3 mark.

The leading university in Catalonia

In this edition, the fourth of this ranking, the amount of analysed institutions increased by 15%: it studied a total of 758 institutions, from which the top 500 centers have been published. The top university in Spain to appear in the ranking is the private University of Navarra, followed by the Madrid Technical University and the University of Barcelona, which leads the ranking among the Catalan centers. The impact of the good position of the UB for society, considering the amount of graduates that come from the UB, is notable.

The world ranking is led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Sidney.

The QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 have analysed eighteen Spanish universities. The aim of this list is to answer some questions on the reputation of the universities among the companies, the link between universities with companies and the graduatesʼ interest in the labour field.

Moreover, the University of Barcelona is listed among the top 250 worldwide universities according to the new edition of the ranking edited by the British journal The Times Higher Education (THE), published in September. Out of the five areas in which the ranking indicators are grouped, the UB outstands in citations, where it gets a score of 87.6, and in internationalization, with a score of 54.7.
