On November 12, the Paranimph of the University of Barcelona will hold the 11th edition of the

Women 60º Congress

on “Health, Welfare and Business for women directors and businesswomen”. More than three hundred women directors and businesswomen from different sectors will exchange knowledge and proposals on health, welfare and technological innovation regarding companies. This year, the 360º Congress is co-organized with the Institute for Lifelong Learning of the University of Barcelona (IL3-UB), aiming to encourage directive teams to join a training on issues related to the areas of health and business.

Although there is still no real parity, about a 30% of people in directive job positions in Spain are women. The Women 360º Congress tries to give them visibility and make collaboration networks and meeting points for them. This platform tries to treat current issues related to health and business and promote models of healthy and competitive companies that opt for a global care of health 360, that is, prevention and care for the planet, people, corporations and society.

The opening of this sessions will include the speeches by Gemma Tarafa, councillor of Health, Ageing and Care at the Barcelona City Council; Laura Martínez, president of the Catalan Womenʼs Institute; Elvira Bisbe, first vice-president of the Col·legi de Metges de Barcelona; Núria Bosch, vice-president of the School of Pharmacists of Barcelona; Sílvia Forès, president of Foro RRHH Foment del Treball, and Rosa Cuscó, director of Women 360º Congress. Also, the following members will be in charge of the final reflections and closing the event: Joan Elias, rector of the UB, Alba Vergés, minister of Health at the Catalan Government and Guillem Íñiguez, director-general of the Institute for Lifelong Learning of the University of Barcelona (IL3-UB).

Under the motto “Innovation and Leadership” will be five debate tables to promote business models on health, inclusion, sustainability and competitiveness. The Women 360º Congress will gather distinguished figures from the field of health, politics, business, arts and culture. The aim is to strengthen the presence of women voices in the business world, give visibility to their worries and promote their proposals for the business models our future requires.
