The conference is co-organized by the Nursing School of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona and the Barcelona Official College of Nursing (COIB).

The meeting intends to share research projects, create new lines of work for the future and exchange opinions, experiences and knowledge on the field of nurse research. It will be a unique chance to get involved in the healthcare based on evidence, contributing to its transfer and uses.

In this edition, the debate will focus on the need to share and standardize the indicators and data of the results from nursing practices in population and the healthcare system. This issue is a challenge to this profession regarding terminology, technology and communication skills of the nurses to spread the effect of their professional practices on people's health.

Participants in the opening of this meeting are: Manuel Cuenca, general deputy director of Applied Services, Training and Research of the Carlos III Health Institute; Antoni Trilla, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the UB; Albert Tort, president of the Barcelona Official College of Nursing; Núria Cuxart, dean of the Council for Nursing Schools of Catalonia; Pilar Delgado, vice-dean of the Unit of Training and Research of Nursing-Bellvitge, and M. Teresa Moreno, director of Investén-isciii.

The Nursing School is a distinguished school at a national and international level, both in teaching and in research. It is listed among the top hundred schools according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject, the only Spanish one within this category.

Moreover, the Official School of Nursing brings its essential support to this meeting. COIB guarantees the interaction between the healthcare and academic fields, which are essential for the disciplines of health, and promotes the necessary synergies so that both institutions work together on research projects.
