Laura Pedro and Lluís Rivera are receiving more and more awards. Last week these two graduates from the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC) -UB affiliated school-, they received the Gaudí award to the best visual effects for their work in Superlópez (fifth film by the former student Javier Ruiz Caldera), and received the Goya award to the best special effects on Saturday.

This is the first nomination and first Goya for Laura Pedro (graduated in the first promotion of VFX in ESCAC), the first woman to win the Goya in the category of special effects supervisor. On the other hand, this is the second Goya for Lluís Rivera (expert on visual effects), after having received another in 2016 for Anacleto: Agente secreto.

Apart from this award, ESCAC was present among the nominees of this 33rd edition of the Goya Awards: Lluís Rivera was also nominated for the special effects in La sombra de la ley; Edu Grau competed in the category of top photograph in Quién te cantará, and former master student Andrea Jaurrieta was nominated to the top novel direction for Ana de día.

With these awards, ESCAC graduates gather more than forty nominations and twenty-one Goya Awards over these thirty editions of the awards given by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain.
