The UB awards the XXII Doctors' Senate Awards and the extraordinary doctorate awards

The ceremony was presided by the rector, Joan Elias; the vice-rector for Doctoral Studies and Research Promotion, Francesc Xavier Roigé; the vice-rectof for Teaching and Academic Planning, Amelia Díaz; the director of the Institute of Education Sciences, Xavier Triadó, and the lecturer from the Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics of the Faculty of Biology, David Bueno, who gave a conference.

El XXII Premi Claustre de Doctors el va guanyar David Oriola, pel treball Self-organization and cooperativity of cytoskeletal molecular motors, dirigida pel professor Jaume Casademunt, del Departament de Física Quàntica i Astrofísica. La tesi, formada per cinc articles publicats en revistes dʼalt impacte com ara Physical Review Letters o Nature Communications, se centra en l'estudi de l'acció col·lectiva de motors moleculars del citoesquelet i té com a objectiu contribuir a comprendre com es genera la força i el moviment dins de les cèl·lules.
L'edició d'enguany també ha premiat, amb dos accèssits finalistes, Lucia Vaquero Zamora, pel treball Brain estructural predisposition for music and Language processing, i Miquel Cabal Guarro, per Actituds, transmissió i usos lingüístics dels tàtars de Crimea. A més, s'han lliurat dues mencions d'honor, un per a Paula Garcia Esparcia, pel treball Identification of a risk transcriptome and proteome in Parkinson's disease, Dementia with Lewy bodies and rapidly progressive Dementia with Lewy bodies, i l'altra per a Martia Subirà Coromina, pel treball Caracterització de les alteracions cerebrals associades a lʼheterogeneïtat clínica del trastorn obsessivocompulsiu mitjançant ressonància magnètica estructural i funcional.
Abans del lliurament dels guardons, el professor del Departament de Genètica, Microbiologia i Estadística David Bueno va oferir la conferència «Coneixement i societat: una sinergia imprescindible».
El Premi Claustre de Doctors de la Universitat de Barcelona es va crear per distingir les tesis doctorals llegides i defensades en aquesta institució que representen aportacions rellevants al coneixement humà i el progrés de la ciència.
