Named after the first woman to graduate in Medicine in the UB and in Spain, this new academic year, the Barcelona Knowledge Campus adds a new building: Dolors Aleu. This building, launched by the University of Barcelona and Nexo Residencias Group and GSA España has the largest university residence and a big space for study, entrepreneurship and co-working.

The new building expands, on the one hand, the room the UB gives to study and entrepreneurship projects based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the students; and on the other, it becomes part of the university accommodation of the UB, where we can find the three residential colleges and the affiliated private offer.

Espai UB, which covers 1,500 square meters and room for 400 students, has a large study room, a place for entrepreneurship and co-working -StartUB! Lab- and a filing room with 39 compacts for documentation in the campus.

The Aleu Residence has more than 19,000 square meters and offers local and international students more than 500 accommodation places, and several services such as reading rooms, audio-visual spaces, cafeteria and restaurant, laundry and a gym, apart from a wide program of activities for their personal and professional development.

The new building has been designed by the team Blanch + Conca Arquitectura (BCA) and built by the company VOPI4. With a B energy rating, different eco-efficency elements and an energy saving plan, it fulfils the strategic objectives of the UB to respect the environment and its sustainability.
