The Catalan League of Handball (FCH) gave two FCH Awards to the University of Barcelona for the golden and bronze medals won by the female and male teams of beach handball in the European Universities Championships (EUSA 2019). The awards were given last Friday, October 11, in Amposta, framed within the Catalan Handball Fest 2019, and the head of the Area of Competitions of the UB, Ulpi Roman, was the one to get the awards.

Every year, the Catalan League of Handball honors those people, teams and entities that have to be distinguished for their task over the season and sports experience. This year, the UB has been one of the awardees, after their successful July in the European Universities Championships in Zagreb (Croatia), where the University became the European winner in female beach handball. It was the first time the UB won a European university award in collective sports. In addition, the male team of beach handball won the bronze medal, which is also the first one a male team of the UB receives.
