EducationUSA will advise on studying in the U.S. from the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona
A U.S. government EducationUSA advising center will open on February 10 at the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona (UB), a center where students will be able to find comprehensive information on studying in the U.S. and on how to best access studying opportunities. Joan Elias, President of the UB and Robert Riley, Consul General of the United States in Barcelona, presented yesterday the memorandum of understanding to carry out the initiative.

Four months after the opening of its first center in Barcelona, located at the American Space of the Ignasi Iglésias - Can Fabra Library in Sant Andreu, EducationUSA, expands its services thanks to the collaboration of the UB.
The UB is therefore the first Spanish university to reach the agreement to host a center of the EducationUSA network and offer a new advising service to students. Moreover, there is the willingness that this initiative contributes to deepen ties between the UB and American universities.
The over 425 EducationUSA centers of the U.S. Department of State are located in over 175 countries offering free academic advising services to students interested in following undergraduate or graduate programs in the U.S. as well as English courses in American universities. EducationUSA advising centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world. They also offer accurate, current, and comprehensive information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance for prospective international students on how best to access those opportunities. Their services are oriented towards students as well as school mentors.
The center at the UB, led by academic adviser Emilia Larach will open one day a week, Wednesdays from 10am to 6pm.
