Xavier Pons, professor of International Law, has been reelected as dean of the Faculty of Law. “With the experience of the first mandate, we have prepared an Action Plan to put the Faculty of Law in the best position to carry out its teaching and research activities”, said Pons.

This Action Plan has a large set of measures that are listed regarding the central fields of the activity of the Faculty (teaching and research), the cross-sectional action fields (quality, communication, internationalization, social responsibility and equipment) and the four involved interested groups (students, teaching staff and the administration and services staff, and social agents). “To name some measure that stands out in three big fields, I could say that in the academic field, we suggest that we adjust and update the bachelor and master degrees to the new social needs and technological, methodological, content and value changes that, in current society, law and social sciences constantly undergo”, he continues. Also, he notes that “regarding 2030 and the teaching staff, the main priority is to use the current favorable conjuncture to plan the generational shift and re-adjust the structure of the staff among the permanent teaching staff and the adjunct lecturers, especially in unbalanced areas”.

Xavier Pons is an expert in International Public Law, international organizations, European Community Law, Human Health and Food Safety.
