Information about yesterday's problems in the Virtual Campus

Dear members of the UB community,

Yesterday morning, March 16, several casuistries affected the communication with the Virtual Campus platform in the cloud for three hours, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. approximately, when it could reopen and work again. The unusual traffic of the network at a state level, plus the rain, and a heavy charge in the cloud, made communications slow in our platform. The Area of Technology of the UB, together with Amazon Web Services suppliers, could measure our needs and solved the problem. The service was reopened and could provide support to the required network traffic of these days.

Having said that, we are sorry for the inconvenience these problems caused to those users who needed the UB Virtual Campus at that moment. We want to thank you for your patience during these difficult and strange times. These are hard times that make it difficult for us to work the way we would like to. Again, thank you for your support and commitment to the good functioning of the institution, and to those who work to maintain the services of our University.

Best regards,

Joan Elias
Rector
