Several researchers of the University of Barcelona will give online talks to talk about their research. There are six of these, from different disciplines, which can be watched on the website of the Science Fest. This cycle is opened by the researcher Roser Giménez, from the Research Centre in Sociolinguistics and Communication (CUSC-UB) and Laboratorio SQ3, who will talk about the secrets of forensic linguistics, on Monday June 22, at 6 p.m. Previous registration through this link is required to take part in the meetings.

The Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the UB decided to promote this activity as a response to the success in participation in all workshops of the sixth edition of the Science Fest, held on May 8, online.

Sessions until late July

On June 30, the lecturers Maria Teresa Lluch and Montserrat Puig, from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, will treat the issue of positive mental health and will talk about the strategies we can take in our daily life.

On July 15, Albert Santasusagna, researcher in the Mediterranean Environmental Research Group at the Faculty of Geography and History, will talk about the benefits of an urban city plan like the one designed by Ildefons Cerdà for the district of Eixample, in Barcelona, during the second half of the 19th century.

On July 10, the audience will find out what is Projecte UBuilding, created at the UB, to improve the reading skills of children and adolescents. The session will be offered by Jorge López Olóriz, head of project research, the psychologist Sandra Ballesta, head of teaching, and psychologist Marc Ferrer, head of family assistance area.

Researchers Esther Arroyo, Isabel Viola and Miriam Anderson, members of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Private Law, and the Legal Clinic in Property Law and Residence Mediation (ClinHab), will try to solve all housing legal questions the participants ask. The online meeting will take place on July 23 and questions can be sent through this form.

Last, on July 27, the audience can find out about complex systems, brought by Jordi Perez, researcher of the Research Institute of Complex Systems of the University of Barcelona (UBICS).
