Second UB International Mobility Fair

The fair will be carried out online, a website has been created to check the information more than a hundred international universities have sent. Students will find information of many universities, training programs, existing grants and other aspects regarding the more than 800 universities from 57 countries, with which the UB has signed exchange agreements.

Moreover, users can attend online presentations which will inform about the different mobility supports offered at the UB services, from the Office of Mobility and International Programs to the Language Services and the Modern Language School. The fair will have online stands where students can take part in conversations with other students who have or are already on a mobility exchange.

Just like in the first edition, the Second UB International Mobility Fair counts on the support of the Confucius Institute Foundation and the Chinese Consulate-General in Barcelona to promote activities related to mobility with Chinese universities. In these lines, regarding collaboorations, the Fullbright Commission will share its grant program. Finally, the CHARM-EU European university, whose coordinator is the UB, will be presented.

Once the fair ends, the information will be in a digital repository which will be available during all the academic year. According to the vice-rector for Internationalization, Bibiana Crespo, “the fair presents a wide and updated information of the options on specific international mobility for each centre, and the general agreements of our institutions, apart from the requirements regarding language accreditation for each case, visa application, etc.”.

The afternoon sessions, called virtual stands, are organized into four blocs: Europe, Asia and Oceania, America and Africa. In these, those students who have carried out or are in the middle of a mobility stay will share their experiences giving room to solve doubts and questions made by the attendants.

The vice-rector Crespo notes that the fair shows how “despite the pandemic, the UB has not stopped its international mobility. Our actions on international promotion should not stop, quite the contrary, the new format for this fair gives room to promote new ways of hybrid mobility and online exchanges”.
