Juan Fran Sangüesa, new director of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the UB
Rector Joan Guàrdia has appointed Juan Fran Sangüesa as new director of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the UB (CCiTUB). The rector thanked the outgoing director, José Ramón Seoane, for his dedication on leading the CCiTUB since 2010.
Rector Joan Guàrdia has appointed Juan Fran Sangüesa as new director of the Scientific and Technological Centers of the UB (CCiTUB). The rector thanked the outgoing director, José Ramón Seoane, for his dedication on leading the CCiTUB since 2010.
Juan Fran Sangüesa, who starts today in his new position, is a biochemical engineer from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (INSA) and got his doctorate on Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Montpelier. In Montpelier, he worked in the Centre for Biochemical and Macromolecular Research (CRBM) and the Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF).
The new director of CCiTUB has a long experience on research and innovation management, acquired in institutions such as the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), the Agency for Enterprise Competitiveness (ACCIÓ) and the UAB Research Park, where he led the Unit of Innovation Projects over the last seven years. He has taken part in more than R&D&i projects, promoting public and private collaborations nationally and internationally. Among these are the European projects IBISBA and NFFA, two great initiative to coordinate scientific and technological structures in the fields of biotechnology and nanotechnology, respectively.
