Launched in 2018, the Erasmus+ EQuAM-M project (Enhancing Quality Assurance Management in Morocco) aimed to support the new Moroccan agency for the assessment and quality ANEAQ. It aims to support Morocco in its willingness to improve a national assurance system for the efficient quality that reflects the Moroccan context. The exchange of experiences and best practices on quality assurance has been carried out with this purpose.

During the project, which counted on the participation of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), a report on the current state of the quality assurance in higher education in Morocco was written. Also, a guideline for the progressive evolution of this quality assurance and quality culture was written, as well as a white book gathering a set of recommendations. Other useful tools to work on quality assurance are collected too as well as best practices on the management of quality in several Moroccan universities.

The EQuAM-M project joins the support line to important reforms launched by Morocco in different fields, specially in higher education and scientific research, since this country was granted the “Advanced Status” by the European Union granted in 2008, which opens it up to higher levels of political cooperation.
