The faculties of Economics and Business and Chemistry have obtained the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU) certification for the Internal Quality Assurance System (SAIQU) they have introduced in both centers.

AQU certifies that SAIQU is in both faculties and that it is appropiate to ensure the quality of the studies of bachelorʼs and masterʼs degrees taught at the University.

Out of the several analysed dimensions to give the certifications, Chemistry stands out for the quality of the training program and the teaching-learning and student support, where the Faculty obtained the highest score. Regarding Economics and Business, the teaching-learning dimension and student support stand out as well, since they have received the highest score too.

To get the SAIQU certification, a committee appointed by AQU has analysed the documentation provided by the faculties, such as the SAIQU quality and process manual, and a set of achieved values and indicators, as well as several reports related to the introduction of processes. After analysing these data and documentation, the committee held meetings with the head of each centre and several agents of the faculties, ranging from academic positions to teaching staff, AdSS, students and graduates.

With these certifications, both faculties prove they follow a continues improvement culture and will be able to obtain an institutional accreditation. This would allow them to automatically confirm all official degrees that are taught in these centres, without having to follow an individual accreditation process for each degree.
