The UB is once again the Catalan University with the highest number of first-choice option in the applications for the academic year 2021/2022. Out of the most requested degrees in Catalonia, four are from the University of Barcelona: Medicine (Clinic Campus), with 1,764 applications as first-choice, followed by Psychology, with 1,185 applications, Business Administration and Management, with 1,077 applications, and Nursing (Bellvitge Campus), with 902 applications.

The UB is once again the Catalan University with the highest number of first-choice option in the applications for the academic year 2021/2022. Out of the most requested degrees in Catalonia, four are from the University of Barcelona: Medicine (Clinic Campus), with 1,764 applications as first-choice, followed by Psychology, with 1,185 applications, Business Administration and Management, with 1,077 applications, and Nursing (Bellvitge Campus), with 902 applications.

These degrees, among the top-five requested in Catalonia, are followed by the most requested degrees in the UB, Law, with 722 applications as first-choice; Dentistry, with 680 applications; Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, with 584 applications, and Primary Education, with 532. If we consider the Catalan university system as a whole, almost one out of three students chooses the UB as first option.

The highest admission mark in the UB is the dual pathway of Mathematics and Physics studies, with 13.546 points, and an offering of 20 places, followed by Medicine (Clinic Campus) with 13.146 points and an offering of 172 places, and the dual pathway of Computer Science Engineering and Mathematics, with 13.032 points and an offering of 20 places. There are seven degrees in Catalonia with an admission mark over 13 like these three in the UB. Among the 94 degrees offered at the UB, 64 of them have increased its admission mark.

Moreover, a total of 634 students allocated at the UB have an admission mark over 13 (the mark is calculated joining the upper secondary school qualifications and the university entrance exams, with the highest score being 14). The number of excellent students last year was 559 and it continues with the growing trend of the last years.
