The UB hosts an interactive scientific dissemination module on COVID-19
On December 31, 2019, the Chinese Government informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of the emergence of a new virus: the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the cause of the disease known as COVID-19, which has changed the daily lives of millions of people around the world. But almost two years later, what do we know about it? To answer this question, the main hall of the Historical Building of the UB will host, from September 27 to October 29, an interactive science dissemination module on COVID-19, developed by the prestigious exhibition design company Indissoluble.

But almost two years later, what do we know about it? To answer this question, the main hall of the Historical Building of the UB will host, from September 27 to October 29, an interactive science dissemination module on COVID-19, developed by the prestigious exhibition design company Indissoluble.
It is an immersive experience that provides visitors with several resources to approach the pathology. This device is also 100% anti-COVID-19: it activates automatically when it detects the user's presence, without the user having to touch it to interact with it.
Five interactive activities
The module offers five content options. Visitors can find out in real time the impact of the virus worldwide, through updated data on cases of infection and death caused by COVID-19, as well as the number of vaccinated people worldwide. You can also learn more about the disease through four audiovisual pieces: Els coronavirus del segle XXI; Les dones, més resistents; Mutacions del SARS-CoV-2, and Què és la carga viral? are the titles of these informative videos, validated by scientific experts.
On a more playful note, the exhibition also presents a videogame to learn about COVID-19. Another of the resources challenges visitors to test their knowledge about the disease through a true-or-false game: the user must decide on the veracity of five statements that are in social networks and other media, and can then compare their answer with that given by the WHO.
The last of the proposals is a video produced by the Audiovisual Unit of the UB that shows how the pandemic has been experienced at the University: from the efforts made by the institution and the university community at the beginning of the state of alarm, to the start of the current academic year, marked by the return to the university and the importance of continuing to maintain prevention measures (in this regard, it is possible to check the website ub.edu/covid19).
