Report on the academic year 2020/2021 of the UB
The University of Barcelona has published the Report on the academic year 2020/2021. The document collects the main data of the institution for the last academic year, as well as the most distinguished activities carried out in the fields of teaching, research, innovation and knowledge transfer. Also, it highlights the presence of the University in society and the international sphere.
The publication features statistical information about the UB which is available online. The rector says in the prologue, that the report allows us to follow the journey of the University for the last academic year: “A journey that, although it is still marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, has been carried out with the pursued success and the self-demanding spirit of our institution thanks to the effort of the UB community”.

The Report for 2020/2021 starts with a first chapted titled “The University of Barcelona Today”, which shares the main strengths that characterize the institution and it describes the features that describe its identity. Then, the publication is divided into four themed blocs: “A university engaged with society”, which describes initiatives related to transparency, ethics, sustainability and good governance, entrepreneurship and transfer to society, as well as institutional, cultural and supporting activities; “A University at the forefront of education”, which lists the academic offering, support for students, innovation, assessment and teaching; “A University in the vanguard of research”, which analyses the research performance, transfer of technology, knowledge and innovation and the doctoral tasks and dissemination of scientific culture, and “An international university”, which is focused on the international institutional activity an mobility of the different university collectives.
This year, each of these chapters is headed with distinguished information about members of the UB community who have been awarded over this last academic year. Regarding the design, this yearʼs report is similar to the last edition, with photographs and illustrative graphic material for its content. It also includes extracts from articles published in the media which refer to the reviewed activities.
The publication has been carried out by the Technical Bureau at the Rectorʼs Office and has been edited by Editions and Publications of the University of Barcelona. The print run of the Report accounts for 225 copies in Catalan, which will be distributed around the University and in several institutions and bodies linked to higher education in Catalonia. Like last year, the Spanish and English editions will be published on digital format and will be soon available. The electronic format for this document will be distributed to different institutions and bodies, both national and international.
