On May 13, the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona will hold the second edition of the Letʼs UB! session, a meeting point for the university community and the entrepreneur ecosystem in Barcelona. It has a dual aim: easing networking through a forum of start-ups and spin-offss and a business fair and offering training sessions under the format of talks, workshops and roundtables during this day.

The investment forum will include the participation of businesses that will present their projects to get funding. The fair will exhibit stands of up to thirteen companies created by the UB students.

Workshops and roundtables

This year, the innovation and entrepreneurship session Letʼs UB supports training activities. Apart from two roundtables (“Challenges and opportunities in tourism” and “How to create companies with research results”), there will be workshops on stress management, social and environmental project creation, non-verbal communication, body language and improvisation tools.

Among the speakers will be Evert Jaap, general manager of YES!Delft, the largest tech incubator of the Netherlands, and Nuria Pastor, former student of the UB and CEO of HumanITcare, the smart platform of medicine that received the 4YFN Awards in the Mobile World Congress in 2022. Moreover, Pastor was selected by Forbes for the 30 Under 30 class, the list of brightest young entrepreneurs under the age of thirty.

With this second edition, Letʼs UB! Is consolidated as the distinguished annual session to promote the development of human and professional skills related to innovation. The session, organized by StartUB!, the entrepreneurship centre of the UB, counts on the collaboration of CETT and the School of New Interactive Technologies (ENTI), UB-affiliated centres, and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.

During the session, three companies incubated at StartUB! will be awarded: HumanITcare, which commercializes a platform for the remote monitoring of patients, will receive the Scalability Prize; ViRe Instruments, dedicated to the visualization and analysis of three-dimensional bioimages through virtual reality, artificial intelligence and metaverse, will receive the Prize to Innovation, and Bleta, which commercializes a tablet designed for the elderly, will receive the Prize to Social Impact. The StartUB! Sprint Awards will be given as well to encourage the entrepreneur spirit in the university community and promote the creation of companies launched by students of the University.
