This year, Barcelona is hosting the most important higher education fair in Europe, organized by the European Association for International Education (EAIE). The event will bring together more than 200 exhibitors from around the world at the Fira de Barcelona from September 13 to 16 and it is expected to receive more than 6,000 delegates representing universities from all over the world. The UB will be present at the Study in Catalonia stand of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia, where all the universities of the Catalan university system will be represented.

During the three days of the fair, dozens of meetings will be held with institutional representatives of universities from all continents. The aim is to establish new collaboration agreements and strengthen the existing ones.

In addition, as part of the official program of the EAIE Conference, the UB will offer two campus experiences on Tuesday 13, before the official opening of the event: international groups of representatives from various universities and higher education institutions will visit the facilities of the UB and they will carry out networking activities.

One of these campus experiences will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business and will be dedicated to social sciences, education, humanities and the arts. The other, at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, will focus on experimental sciences, health and mathematics. Representatives from all UB faculties will have the opportunity to present their centers to the international delegations, as well as participate in meetings to establish new collaborations. In both cases, the activity will close with a visit to the Historical Building. Participants will be able to learn, among other aspects of the institution, some features of the internationalization policy of the UB.

This year, the EAIE is entitled "The future in full color", a name that refers to the growing range of tools for internationalization. Within the program of activities, the director of the European alliance CHARM-EU, Meritxell Chaves, will participate in a session on European collaborative programs on Wednesday 14. Other speakers will include Andries Verspeeten, from Ghent University (Belgium); Katharina F. Heil, from the international organization ELIXIR; Yann-Maël Bideau, from the European Commission; and Unni Kvernhusvik Sagberg, from the Government of Norway.

On the other hand, the UB has organized a reception for Monday 12 in the Historic Building with representatives of all the European alliances and, on Thursday 15, another for 250 people from the field of higher education from various countries who are in Barcelona these days on the occasion of the EAIE. Also, some UB representatives will attend numerous receptions organized by the other universities, institutions and organizations with which the UB is linked.
