On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated on 25 November, the University of Barcelona has organized, this year again, a series of activities to say no to gender-based violence and to raise awareness on this social scourge.

The main event of 25N will take place in the Historical Buildingʼs Aula Magna at 9:00 a.m., with the reading of the manifesto by the Interuniversity Council of Cataloniaʼs Women and Science Committee. The UB subscribes to this manifesto.

Then, Janara Sousa, lecturer at the University of Brasilia and expert on violence against women, will give the conference “Ciberviolencia: concepto, dinámica, tipos, impactos y formas de prevención”.

The event will feature the award ceremony for the Clara Campoamor Awards to the best bachelorʼs degree final projects with gender perspective, which promote the integration of gender perspective to teaching, besides giving visibility to the research on gender carried out by the students.

Last, artist Elena Frajwill talk about chauvinist violence in contemporary art. The organization of this event is carried out by the Vice-rectorʼs Offices of Equal Opportunities and Gender and of Heritage and Cultural Activities.
