Institute of Childhood and Adolescence of Barcelona

Institute of Childhood and Adolescence of Barcelona is a public consortium dedicated to creating and sharing knowledge on with childhood and local policies, in order to guarantee that people under eighteen can exercise their rights as citizens. The Institute is affiliated to the Barcelona City Council and was created in 2000 as the Institute of Childhood and the Urban World (CIIMU). In 2016 the Institute begins a new stage in which it will aim to strengthen the focus on rights, equality and citizenship in knowledge creation. It will also strive to improve collaborative work and work linked to the political agenda. The institutions that make up the consortium are the Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Open University of Catalonia.
