Institute for Research on Biodiversity (IRBio)

The Institut de Recerca de la Biodiversitat (IRBio) aims to become a centre of reference on the study, cataloguing and management of biodiversity.

IRBio focuses its research on understanding the fundamental processes underlying ecosystem function, the biology and ecology of populations, as well as the origin and diversification of species. Additionally, it provides scientific advice for proper management and conservation of wildlife and it carries out technical studies related to biodiversity.
