Health, Safety and Environmental Issues (OSSMA)

Functions

  • Design, application and coordination of the action plans and programs addressing occupational and environmental hazard prevention.
  • Evaluation of workplace hazards affecting UB employees in line with current legislation on health and safety.
  • Definition of priority preventive measures to be taken and supervision of their effective use.
  • Assessment to members of the university community in matters of safety and the environment.
  • Coordination of preventive activity with UB-contracted companies.
  • Investigation of accidents and risk scenarios.
  • Systematic and customized assessment of worker health in the context of specific occupational hazards.
  • Provision of the technical support required to design and implement emergency procedures and drills.
  • Design and provision of training courses for employees in all aspects of occupational and environmental hazard prevention required by the UB.
  • Assessment in the university’s waste management programs.
