At the ESRU we conduct investigations focussed on our core research concerns of Social Exclusion and Social Cohesion; Migration Studies; Community Dynamics; Labour Market Structures and Trends; and Social Control. The topics of our investigations reflect such interests and also the comparative transnational nature of our investigative work. The ESRU role in the many projects we have been involved has been both as leaders and partners, such extensive participation in different investigations has made possible to go in-depth in those core elements in each area of research, allowing for our findings to go beyond analysis to produce policy recommendations. In this section you will find a list with a summary of the main ESRU current and past research investigations. For more details and explanations of each investigation we have conducted or are conducting, please click on it and you will be re-directed to the project own web site.
Each research project involves the gathering of dedicated specialist in the field, drawing from the ESRU wide academic resources, as well as an extensive partnership network of EU institutions, developed through many years of collaboration. This procedure ensures that each research project is dealt with by the most relevant experts for the specific topic and focus of the investigation. It must also be noted that much of our research work has been funded through different General Directorates of the European Commission, and in here we would like to acknowledge and express our appreciation for this vital support.
