Marta Segarra, presidenta de RUSEMEG

Marta Segarra, researcher at the Centre de recerca ADHUC - Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat in the Universitat de Barcelona and Directrice de recherche del CNRS of the Laboratoire d’études de genre et de sexualité (LEGS), has been elected President of RUSEMEG (Réseau Universitaire et Scientifique Euro-Méditerranéen sur le Genre et les femmes), relieving the post previously occupied by Zohra Mezgueldi, from the Université Hassan II de Casablanca. The RUSEMEG network aims at promoting both Gender and Women Studies in the euromediterranean area. Marta Segarra has authored many studies on women writers and filmmakers in the Maghreb focusing on the perspectives on gender and sexuality, the notion of community, and animality. She was the director of the journal Expressions Maghrébines, indexed in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index, between 2005 and 2014.
