The exhibition "La ciència en la filatèlia" gives visitors the chance to see special edition stamps from a range of countries featuring scientists such as Linné, Darwin, Buffon, Einstein, Marie Curie, Ramón y Cajal, Trueta, Ochoa, Pi i Sunyer, Ferran i Clua, Oró and Marañón, and important events related to the world of science. There are also a range of institutional stamps, for example from the Royal Academy of Medicine and the Institute of Catalan Studies.
Also on exhibit are stamps commemorating the International Year of Astronomy (2010) and the International Year of Chemistry (2011) and editions featuring images of plants, animals and geological features, as well as a selection of stamps featuring scientific instrumentation such as microscopes and cameras from different periods.

From the 9th to the 31st of May the exhibition of watercolours painted at the Barcelona Zoo by students from the Faculty of Fine Arts can be visited at the Alumni UB's head office. The exhibition has been organised by Rosa Agenjo and Alba Vila, professors of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

The journalists Josep Cuní, Milagros Pérez Oliva and Pilar Rahola, among others, will analyse and discuss possible ways to overcome the current situation of discouragement and rethinking the future, marked by the economy and media diffusion.
The symposium Connecta't, organised with the aim to bring together people, sectors and ideas, will begin with the keynote speech "Crisi i humanització: reptes del moment present", by Àlex Rovira.

The UB takes part in the 14th edition of the Saló de la Gent Gran de Catalunya: Fira Gran 2012 (Fair for senior citizens in Catalonia), as it did in the previous edition. This year's fair coincides with the European Year for Active Ageing.
