Article published in the magazine of artistic diffusion, from a multidisciplinary perspective, AusArt.

This article presents an artistic project that seeks to show some results from the experience developed thanks to the collaboration of the Computational Genomics team led by D. Torrents of the BSC-CNS of the Polytechnic University of Barcelona. The Alignment Collection consists of a series of notebooks comparing scientific and literary texts. It is a visualization around the relation between the grammatical code of a text and the genetic coding through the DNA chains. Sequence alignment in bioinformatics is a way of representing and comparing two or more DNA sequences to highlight areas of similarity that indicate functional or evolutionary relationships between genes. Our aim was to modify this method in order to be able to compare it with grammatical text, characters that follow a set of rules and principles that govern the use of a particular language.
