Stacey Bjorgaard
Graduate Student
Stacey is a recent graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in the Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biophysics track. She came to us in the summer of 2014, having sought out an internship in the lab of Dr. Francisco Ciruela with the aim of combining summer research with a modified study abroad experience. During this time she worked under the supervision of Dr. Ciruela and the current PhD students to gain exposure to laboratory techniques and the experimental process. Some of her research focused on the potential application of adenosine A2A and dopamine D2 receptor expression and activity in lymphocyte cells as a biomarker for Parkinson’s Disease.
